Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB over at Should Be Reading. If you’re interested in participating here’s all you have to do:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser for today is from What Was She Thinking: Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller. I’m not very far in but I am enjoying it so far. I love the writing.
“It is irritating when Sheba talks this way – as if she were a passive victim of fate, rather than the principal architect of her own suffering. It’s a little late in the day for her to start acting the stricken mother.”
